Decyfer Down: The Other Side of Darkness

Melodic hard rock is alive and well on DD’s fourth album, their first since drummer Josh Oliver departed (repaced by Benjamin Millhouse) and guitarist Christopher Clonts stepped away from touring. (Clonts still contributed to writing and playing this album.) Lyrics hit on the wages of sin and the need for new life on tracks like “Dead Skin” and “Rearrange.” Vocalist TJ Harris proves equally adept at howling and crooning. Standout tracks: rocker “Dead Skin” and piano ballad “Believe in Me.” Need a fix for righteous headbanging? Look no further.
